Gentarasa. 13th June 09 It was hilarious, in which I laughed till I almost cried. The flow was very clear, every sequence was diligently implemented. Its the acting by the storytellers, suhaimi and khai that helps with the link. The depth, I wasnt too sure how significant the message was. "Do not forget our roots" I feel its about the modern perspective symbolising hip hop associating with the current teenager adopting the western culture. The show portrays adopting hip hop culture is ok but do not forget our roots and thus that lead to this particular item of casts putting on 'samping' and hip hop clothing. I don't quite agree with that, what identity will that be? It's neither malay nor western identity. As for the dance items, quite a lot of hip hop which I don't quite favour (maybe I'm quite old fashion still stuck with traditionals) but the bhangra dance was entertaining, that cute little boy and not forgetting the near ending scene where the malay traditional culture was highlighted. The dikir barat was good, very mendayu-dayu. Overall it is still worthy to watch, I was laughing throughout. Thumbs up.
